Tuesday - years 5 & 6 left school and walked up the Glenderaterra Valley to Skiddaw House.  They spent a little time playing by the stream before going into the Hostel to make their evening meal and find their beds for the night.

Wednesday - leaving Skiddaw House they climbed to the top of Skiddaw with some fantastic views over Keswick and surrounding area.  They continued their walk down to Dash Falls where they met up with the group of year 4 children, who had walked up from Bassenthwaite.  Together they walked to Bassenthwaite Manor for a two night stay.

Thursday - after breakfast, the children walked to Scarness for kayaking and canoeing.  After an orienteering activity in the afternoon, the team of parents arrived to cook a barbeque, before returning to Bassenfell for the night.

Friday - the morning was spent in the grounds of Bassenfell Manor with different activities including the low ropes course and zip wire.  After a picnic lunch in the grounds the minibus arrived to take everyone to Latrigg for a walk back to Threlkeld, home and a good rest after a very busy week.

Paper Trail

Over the Bank Holiday weekend in May 2009, there was an exhibition of 30 sculptures and other work made from paper and papier mache by Julie Roberts and Peter Rush.  Paper sculptures included the late Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and Margaret Thatcher.  This exhibition was organized by the Village Hall committee.

Peter Rush also worked with children at the school to show them how to make sculptures by his methods so another 59 pieces of art were on display from all age groups in the school.  Click the "Paper" link on the left to see pictures from the exhibition.
